Do you know right meaning of ”Naive”?

I found an article written on “Naive” in Japan times alpha.

Almost all Japanese people have a positive image, such as a pure and innocent child.

But it shows that all those dictionaries go on to say that “naive” is most often used in a critical way.

From now on, we must correct the usage of Japanese English words carefully.
