A semifinal is a match that takes place before the final.
But the semi-fainaru here refers to the summer horrors.
The Japanese word for ”Semi” means cicada in English, and cicadas are terribly feared by insect haters.
Because when they are on the verge of death, they suddenly start chirping and moving furiously.
I have not yet encountered the horror this year and I am very nervous about it.
