I have gotten an overseas edition of Nausicaa’s dvd at Amazon last month. Because it has been low-priced, and I came to want to watch Nausicaa in English.
Then I got a region free dvd&Blu-ray player this month. I have enjoyed watching it.
So, I want to get some kinds of overseas edition’s dvds again. I am going to be having fun with some dvds.
Do I need a special machine to play back an overseas edition of DVDs?
Yes, you do. Because DVD players and DVD disks have region codes.
For example, Japanese region code is 2. American region code is 1.
Japanese region code is not same American it.
For that reason, Japanese DVD players cannot play back American DVDs.
Then you need to get a region free DVD player.
It is difficult to explain the reason in English.
