When I was in Germany, early in the morning I took the train from Düsseldorf station to Paris to visit a friend in Paris.
There was an announcement on the platform, but I did not understand German.
The train suddenly stopped at the Belgium-France border.
The announcement was made in French, saying that the train would end here due to a general strike in France.
There were only three buses waiting at the station to take me to Paris.
Late at night we finally arrived at Gare du Nord in Paris and went to the Bureau de change.
Then I saw someone tapping me on the shoulder from behind. It was my friend’s husband.
He had come to pick me up.
I almost hugged him when I saw him for the first time.

Great story!
